ENGLISH TITLE & SUMMARY Children with illnesses or disabilities speak for themselves: A student-led online discussion (2021) Open to read a brief English summary.
This is an English summary of the Japanese article below.
This announcement introduced an online discussion organised by twelve-year-old childhood-cancer survivor Soma Ishijima on 3 April 2021. Children with illnesses or disabilities were invited to talk about school, daily life and what they wanted others to understand. Children joined through Zoom, while adults watched a simultaneous YouTube stream and provided feedback. Supported by Charming Care and a cancer-support nursing organisation, the event aimed to create space for children’s own voices rather than having adults speak on their behalf.
